LFA WB 15 - Medium Industrial Wood Burner

The LFA WB 15 is an industrial hand-fed wood waste burner designed for businesses producing moderate volumes of wood waste, including manufactured boards containing glues. With a 50 kW heat output, it is capable of heating areas of up to 5,000 ft² (approximately 465 m²) while allowing waste wood to be used directly on site for space heating.

The LFA WB 15 is commonly installed in joinery workshops, manufacturing facilities, fabrication units and industrial buildings where wood waste is generated daily. It is suitable for burning softwood, hardwood, MDF, chipboard, plywood and similar wood-based materials, making it a practical solution where clean offcuts and board waste are produced together.

Material is hand fed through a 420 x 360 mm feed aperture, allowing straightforward loading of bulkier offcuts and sheet material. In normal day-to-day operation, the burner typically uses around 15 kg of wood per hour, depending on material type and heat demand. Operation remains simple and manual, without the need for complex control systems.

All LFA wood burners are approved for use in UK smoke control areas. The LFA WB 15 can also be fitted with a summer dump, allowing wood waste to be burned throughout the year without overheating the space during warmer months.

Units are supplied with a complete flue kit, including 4.5 metres of twin-skinned, thermally insulated flue, taking the total flue height to approximately 6.25 metres when installed. Installation can be carried out by Landfill Alternatives or completed by the customer.

Flue systems must extend to at least one metre above the ridge line of the building it is installed on and any nearby buildings, in line with installation requirements.

The LFA WB 15 is supplied with 2 hot air outlets fitted with adjustable louvers, allowing warm air to be directed where it is needed within the building. Alternatively, one or more outlets can be connected to heating ductwork, enabling heat to be ducted into adjacent areas or distributed further across the site instead of being discharged directly through louvers.

The LFA WB 15 sits within the Landfill Alternatives wood burner range, which also includes the smaller LFA WB 8 and larger LFA WB 25 and LFA WB 45 models to suit different waste volumes and heating requirements. The LFA WB 15 is typically selected where both heat demand and wood waste volumes exceed entry-level burners, but do not require higher-capacity systems.
