Granulators

Granulators are used mainly on plastic material to reduce the size down into more consistent particle sizes called regrind. The plastic granules can then be sold or reused in manufacturing for blow or injection moulding. If you want higher throughput, then it is very common for granulators to be used with a shredder and conveyor system.

There are lots of different features on granulators that vary:

• Blade configuration: Straight, V Cut or hook, each suited to different types and shapes and volumes of plastic.
• Motor size: Larger motors increase torque for harder material or speed of fly blades for higher throughputs.
• Feed hopper: Enclosed goose neck for safety or open hoppers for loading speed.
• Screen size: The smaller the screen size, typically the higher the value of the material but the harder and longer the machine needs to work.
• Chamber size: Larger chamber for bulkier items or higher throughputs.
• Output: Gravity fed into tonne bag, blower, auger or conveyor.
