LFA HB 2

The LFA HB 2 is an extra large semi-automatic horizontal baler designed for sites handling very high volumes of recyclable material or bulkier waste streams. It is well suited to continuous loading applications commonly found in large warehousing, fulfilment centres, manufacturing sites and distribution hubs.

The machine is designed to bale cardboard, plastic film, PET bottles, rigid plastics and paper. With an extra large (2000 x 1000mm) feed opening designed for bulky items, the LFA HB 2 allows larger volumes of material to be loaded more easily, reducing the risk of material bridging.

The LFA HB 2 produces dense wire tied mill size bales typically weighing between 600 and 650kg, meeting the format required by recyclers and mills to offer the highest rebates available for recyclable material, depending on current market conditions.

The baler is supplied as a standard hand fed unit, allowing material to be loaded directly into the feed opening by hand or using plant. Where required, the LFA HB 2 can be modified for loading via a loading dock and external walkway, with an optional canopy available for weather protection. A bin lift version of the LFA HB 2 is also available for sites that require mechanical feeding from wheelie bins.

The LFA HB 2 can be supplied with a larger motor and pump, reducing cycle times to as little as 46 seconds where larger throughputs are required.

Bale ejection is semi-automatic via a hydraulic portcullis door. During ejection, the full bale ejection system pushes the finished bale out in line with the portcullis door, clearing the chamber fully and allowing different materials to be baled without cross contamination. A five wire horizontal tying system is used for straightforward and consistent bale tying.

The baler is fitted with photoelectric sensors for automatic start up, bale full indicators and simple operator controls. With an IP65 rating, the LFA HB 2 can be installed indoors or outdoors and is commonly used on large sites across the UK where recyclable material is generated continuously throughout the day.
