LFA ACC 8 - Large Aerosol Can Crusher
The LFA ACC 8 aerosol can crusher is designed to safely degas and crush larger quantities and larger sizes of aerosol cans prior to disposal. By removing propellant gases, aerosol cans can be treated as non-hazardous waste, significantly reducing disposal costs compared to untreated aerosols.
The ACC 8 is suited to sites generating higher volumes of aerosols or larger can sizes than the ACC 4. Its larger crushing chamber allows up to 8 aerosol cans per cycle and cans up to 520mm tall to be processed, making it suitable for higher throughput applications.
During operation, gases released from the cans are filtered through dual integrated carbon filtration systems, removing propellants that make aerosols hazardous prior to treatment. The machine is also fitted with an integrated sump to capture any residual liquids released during the crushing process.
The LFA ACC 8 is commonly used for aerosol paint spray cans, lubricants, cleaners, sprays and coatings generated in larger volumes on UK sites such as manufacturing facilities, vehicle workshops, maintenance depots, production environments and industrial back-of-house areas.
Aerosol cans should be used and empty before being processed. Once crushed and degassed, the cans can be disposed of safely without being classed as hazardous waste.
The LFA ACC 8 is ATEX rated, allowing aerosol cans to be degassed safely where flammable propellant gases are present during the crushing process.
An air compressor can be supplied if required, allowing the LFA ACC 8 to be installed on sites where compressed air is not already available.
