LFA 600 H.FE.PC – Horizontal Baler
The LFA 600 H.FE.PC is one of the most versatile semi-automatic horizontal balers in our range. It can process a wide variety of materials including cardboard, paper, plastic film, PET bottles, rigid plastics, E-Waste and other recyclables. It is commonly used by waste recyclers, distribution and logistics centres, medium and large businesses with substantial volumes of waste. With a 15kW motor and 60t compaction force, the LFA 600 H.FE.PC produces bales of cardboard up to 600kg-700kg for soft plastics. The Full Eject System (FE) is beneficial especially when it comes to using the baler for 2 or more materials. When ejecting a bale, the baler fully ejects the bale thus clearing the chamber of all material which allows switching between different waste streams and avoiding contamination. The Portcullis Door (PC) enables automatic ejection which facilitates higher throughputs and is less labour intensive. Once a bale has been tied off using an upgraded horizontal tying system, the baler will open the door, eject the bale, then close the door all at a push of a button. As the portcullis door moves vertically rather than a conventional side hinged door, it allows for the option of a bale tray. This means multiple bales can be ejected and stored before collection.

The LFA 600 H.FE.PC is extremely easy to use and requires very little manual work.
Step 1 – Setup
On the side of the bale chamber next to the portcullis door there are five slots with hooks next to each one. Thread the wires through these to the other side of the chamber. Twist the wire onto the hooks on both sides to keep them in place.
Step 2 – Feeding
This step is straight forward – press the green ‘go’ button to put the baler into idle mode. Start feeding material into the hopper. A magic eye sensor sits at the bottom of the hopper and once the sensor detects material, the baler starts up and runs a full cycle compacting all of the material into the bale chamber. The material catches on the retention claws preventing it from springing back into the charge box. Continue feeding material into the hopper as it will sit on top of the ram head dropping into the charge box when the ram returns.
Step 3 – When is the bale full?
This baler has an auto stop feature so when the bale is full, lights will flash on the control panel, the ram head stays forward, and the material stays under compression.
Step 4 – Tying off the bale
This baler is a horizontal tie which makes this step very easy. At the side of the bale chamber there are slots where you can see the ram head which has bale wire channels. Unwrap the wire from the hooks and thread the wire (straight end first) through this channel and the wire will come out to the other side where the loop end is. Thread the straight end of the wire through the loop end, pull the wire tight and wrap the wire around itself 3-4 times. Repeat this on the other wires.
Step 5 – Ejecting the bale
Once a full bale has been created, it needs to be ejected. Place a pallet in front of the portcullis door (if no bale tray). On the control panel, press the ‘ejection’ button. The portcullis door will now open vertically, fully eject the bale, return the ram head and close the door. The bale now weighs up to 700kg sat on a pallet ready to be stored for collection.
As simple as that! It probably takes longer to read the operation than to implement it. As part of the package, one of our trusty engineers will come to site and show the team how to operate it in person. Training certification can be supplied if required.
*Note – Refurbished models may vary in its operation slightly, but the principle will remain very similar.
